Almukantarat Astronomy Club

Camp organizer

Astronomy Club Almukantarat is a Public Benefit Organization that brings together astronomy enthusiasts from all over Poland. Our goal is to promote the development of interest in astronomy and related sciences, especially among young people. The Club was established in 1983 and was registered as an association in 1995.

In addition to summer camps, we also organize mid-year meetings: scientific workshops that take place in various cities in Poland. During these meetings, participants have the opportunity to present a paper on a topic of their choice related to astronomy or related sciences. In this way, they acquire knowledge about astronomy, searching for necessary information, and develop skills in public speaking before a larger audience.

The Club promotes astronomy not only among high school youth, but also among the youngest as well as adults through participation in science picnics and events dedicated to science.
We also run the Polish Astronomical Portal AstroNET. The authors of the posts are members and friends of the Club. AstroNET features news from the world of astronomy, descriptions of the night sky, articles about physics and astronomy, and book reviews.
